If you are a Mac user interested in unique panoramic manipulation, there is a new application out by You Go Mountain —Panogaea— that is available for a very attractive $4.99 in the App Store.
Panogaea is capable of some very unique spherical re-mappings and has an extremely easy-to-use interface enabling concatenated transforms. Above is a simple example I did, but it is capable of so much more. I'll be exploring this app for awhile!
